This patch of forest is owned by another neighbour. I'm skiing around, checking some storm-felled trees there, for I need to decide if I'll promise to harvest these, too. In one corner of the patch of forest there were ten trunks lying down roots up. Those alone, if cut to 3.5 metre logs would make enough for walls of a small cabin. But I'm not sure if I'm going to build a log cabin any year soon. Then, on the other hand, if the timber would be sawn to 4x2 and 5x2 pieces, that would make plenty of material for any kind of support structures for future building projects. Hmm...
