Sounds nice! Here the lakes are frozen over, but I hope to do some ice-fishing in February-March when increased amount of daylight makes fish more active again.

Using a pressure lantern to spot fish sounds nice. And they don't dart away even if one wades in the water? I think in Finland that type of fishing is most commonly done with letting the boat glide silently, paddling as little as possible. Nowadays people use a car battery connected to a headlight, but I'd like to try a led lamp (I tried that one autumn, but my light was not good enough to reliably spot the fish).
