August pictures

August is elokuu in Finnish - literally translated 'harvest moon'. Raspberry season is already gone, there still are some blueberries, and the lingonberries are starting to get ripe red colour. These are just some pictures around my tiny homestead. The sunflower is just for decoration, it grows next to the sauna wall. What was not pictured are zucchini, an odd patch of barley which survived last winter, and potatoes blooming. Hehe, I wasn't even planning to plant potatoes, as I don't eat them that much. But early summer my neighbours asked if I'd like to have a box of seed potatoes, as they got more than enough for their field. I agreed, and quickly prepared kind of a make-shift potato field. All in all, this summer hasn't been that hot, and nearly every other day has been rainy. But the harvest seems to be fine enough.
