Heating up the sauna. I grew up in the countryside, we didn't have a farm but just a big house without that many neighbours. We kids participated in a lot of simple household chores, like chopping firewood and clearing snow. Heating up the sauna was always one of my favourite tasks - the sauna we had back then had a stove which is in between a modern one and the traditional smoke sauna. Like, heating up took about three hours of burning fire, and only when the fire was out people went in. So I often spent those three hours taking care of the sauna, alone in the safety of solitude. Adding firewood when needed, otherwise just introspecting, daydreaming or slumbering. Hehe, well, now as an adult I have a sauna of my own, and the whole homestead of peace, safety and solitude. And heating up the sauna is still one of my favourite tasks.
