Local woods are local woods, yes, but at the same time the Finnish forestland is a part of the Taiga - the mighty belt of coniferous forest. Basically, from here this forest stretches to the west to the Atlantic coast, and to the east to Ural mountains, and continues after those, ultimately going around the globe.
