a camera!

Yes, this is the live-streaming camera system I once built for friends' chicken coop. (It also has a temperature and air humidity sensor attached). At some point the camera had stopped working, so I brought it home with me. Yesterday I had time to take a closer look. I plugged in a display and a keyboard and booted the raspi. It started to boot just fine, but then crashed with kernel panic. At first I suspected it is a hardware failure. I tried the same sd card with a spare raspi, with the same result. So, then I tried another sd card with OS installed on it, and it worked. So, it was just a memory card failure. I made a fresh install, configured the stuff, set up the live camera scripts, and now the thing seems to be working again.

EDIT: ah, and the TP-LINK usb stick is a wifi-adapted with an external antenna connected to it. That gives more freedom for the live camera placement, as it doesn't have an internet connection of its own, but relies on connecting to the wifi at their house.

I remember that project and thought it was exactly that when I saw the camera and that it was dusty, but I didn't remember you mentioning the humidity sensor so I though it might have been something else. Glad it was an easy fix, at least!
