Instead of trying to kill mice with traps I decided to try to just keep them away from my harvest. So I made kind of a big box with walls of metal wire mesh, and put carrots and potatoes inside. The box also has a lid, but I'm afraid the lid might not the tight enough - mice need only a very very small gap to find their way through. Well, I try to improve it in the coming weeks.
